1 Chronicles 29:11
Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Study Note
David's great prayer of thanksgiving for the Temple gifts proclaims God's absolute ownership: 'thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine.' The fivefold catalogue of divine attributes functions as a comprehensive doxology covering every category of excellence, and the following 'all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee' (29:14) makes all human giving an act of returning what was already God's. Matthew 6:13's doxology ('thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever') in the Lord's Prayer may echo this Davidic prayer, though its absence from the best manuscripts is debated. The verse grounds the theology of stewardship: generosity is possible because nothing we give ultimately belongs to us.
