Beatitude
A declaration of blessing. The Beatitudes are the eight (or nine) blessings spoken by Jesus at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12) — 'Blessed are the poor in spirit,' 'Blessed are those who mourn,' etc.
