Ahiram

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Benjamin · H0297
Old Testament

Ahiram, also known as Aharah or Ehi, was a son of Benjamin and the founder of the Ahiramite clan.

Ahiram, also identified with Ehi and Aharah in variant genealogical lists, was a son of Benjamin and the founder of the Ahiramite clan (Genesis 46:21; Numbers 26:38; 1 Chronicles 8:1). The variant names across the three passages reflect either different individuals sharing a common ancestor or scribal variations in transmission of the Benjaminite genealogy. The Ahiramites are listed among the Benjaminite clans counted in Moses' second census of Israel (Numbers 26). As one of Benjamin's sons, Ahiram represents one of the founding clans of the tribe that produced Israel's first king.
