Old Testament

Aridai was one of the ten sons of Haman, who were killed and hanged after their father's downfall.

Aridai was one of the ten sons of Haman the Agagite, the Persian official who plotted the genocide of the Jews throughout the empire of Ahasuerus (Esther 9:9). Following the reversal of Haman's plot through Esther's intervention and the king's authorization for the Jews to defend themselves, Aridai and all ten of Haman's sons were killed in Susa on the thirteenth of Adar. The distinctive columnar listing of the ten sons' names in the Hebrew text of Esther has been the subject of rabbinic and scholarly comment. Their deaths represented the complete reversal of Haman's intended destruction of the Jewish people.
