Old Testament

Eliathah, a son of Heman, was appointed as a musician during King David's reign.

Eliathah was a son of Heman, the royal seer, appointed by David as one of the twenty-four divisions of temple musicians responsible for prophesying with harps, lyres, and cymbals (1 Chronicles 25:4, 27). He was assigned by lot to the twentieth division, responsible for his group of twelve musicians in their designated week of temple service. Heman's sons served under the direction of the king and the commanders of the army in the organized Levitical worship of the sanctuary.
