Gabbai

Gabbai was a Benjamite who settled in Jerusalem after the return from Babylonian exile, listed in Nehemiah 11:8 among those from Benjamin who took up residence in the holy city as part of the repopulation effort. He is identified as a companion of Sallai, and together their families numbered 928 men. His resettlement in Jerusalem reflects the postexilic community's effort to restore the tribal character and population of the holy city.
