Gilalai was a priest and musician who participated in the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem during Nehemiah's time.
Gilalai was a Levite musician who participated in the great procession celebrating the dedication of Jerusalem's rebuilt walls under Nehemiah, recorded in Nehemiah 12:36. He was among the musicians who followed Ezra the scribe in one of the two choirs that processed in opposite directions around the walls. His participation in this landmark ceremony marks him as part of the Levitical musical tradition restored after the Babylonian exile.
