Hodesh was one of the wives of Shaharaim, a Benjamite, and the mother of several of his children.
Hodesh was a wife of Shaharaim, a Benjamite who had divorced his earlier wives Hushim and Baara, and by her he fathered seven sons in the land of Moab (1 Chronicles 8:9). The sons listed—Jobab, Zibia, Mesha, Malcam, Jeuz, Sachia, and Mirmah—became heads of families and leaders within the Benjamite tribal system. Hodesh is one of the few women named in the genealogies of Chronicles, reflecting her role as the founding mother of a recognized family line.
