Maaz was a son of Ram, a descendant of Judah.
Maaz was the firstborn son of Ram, a descendant of Jerahmeel in the tribe of Judah (1 Chronicles 2:27). He is listed alongside his brothers Jamin and Eker in the genealogical record of the Jerahmeelite clan. The Jerahmeelites occupied the southern Negev region and had complex relationships with neighboring peoples including the Kenites. Maaz appears only in this genealogical notice.
