Meres, one of the seven princes of Persia and Media who advised King Ahasuerus.
Meres was one of the seven princes of Persia and Media who held privileged access to the king's presence and served as his personal advisers (Esther 1:14). When Queen Vashti refused to appear before King Ahasuerus, these seven counsellors were consulted regarding the appropriate legal response. Meres is mentioned only in this single verse and is known solely through his role in the court deliberations that set the narrative of the book of Esther in motion.
