Nethanel was a priest who blew trumpets before the ark of God.

Nethanel was a priest who blew a trumpet before the ark of the covenant when David transferred it from the house of Obed-edom to Jerusalem (1 Chronicles 15:24). He was one of several priests appointed to sound the trumpets in the sacred procession, a role that fulfilled the Mosaic prescription for priestly trumpet-blowing at solemn occasions (Numbers 10:1–10). Several other men named Nethanel appear in the Old Testament, reflecting the name's popularity—meaning 'God has given'—in priestly and Levitical families.
