Paruah, the father of Jehoshaphat, who was one of Solomon's twelve district governors.

Paruah was the father of Jehoshaphat, one of the twelve district governors appointed by Solomon to supply the royal court with provisions for one month in each year (1 Kings 4:17). His son Jehoshaphat administered the territory of Issachar. Paruah is known only through this paternal relationship; his tribal affiliation, dates, and any other details are not preserved in the biblical text.
