Zimmah, a Levite and descendant of Gershon, was the son of Shimei.
Zimmah was a Levite of the Gershonite clan, the son of Shimei and father of Joah, listed in the Levitical genealogy of 1 Chronicles 6:20 and 2 Chronicles 29:12. He belongs to the Gershonite line descended from Lael through Libni and Shimei. A second appearance of the name occurs in 1 Chronicles 6:42 in a slightly different genealogical context, and a Zimmah appears in the purification of the temple under Hezekiah (2 Chronicles 29:12) as a Levite who participated in cleansing.
