The repeated inclusion of 'stranger, fatherless, and widow' across Deuteronomy's festival legislation establishes a pattern that Zechariah 7:9–10 summarizes as the essence of true worship: justice to the vulnerable is not distinct from liturgical celebration but intrinsic to it.
