Abishur

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H0051
Old Testament

Abishur, the son of Shammai, was a descendant of Judah; he married Abihail, and they had two sons, Ahban and Molid.

Abishur was a descendant of Judah through Jerahmeel, the son of Shammai and brother of Nadab (1 Chronicles 2:28–29). He married Abihail, and together they had two sons: Ahban and Molid. These Jerahmeelite families occupied territory in the far south of Judah and are known primarily through the detailed genealogical lists that preserved family memory for later generations. Abishur himself appears in no narrative episode and is known exclusively from these genealogical records, which attest the continuity of Judah's tribal families into the divided monarchy period.
