Addar

Addar, also identified with Ard in the parallel passage (Numbers 26:40), was a son of Bela and a grandson of Benjamin, listed in the early Benjaminite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 8:3. He is one of Bela's several sons and represents a sub-clan of the tribe of Benjamin. The overlap between Addar and Ard in different genealogical lists reflects the complexity of Israelite tribal genealogy, where variant names or scribal transpositions could alter the record. His lineage connects him to the founding generation of the twelve tribes who entered Egypt with Jacob.
