Ahio

Ahio was a son of Elpaal and a descendant of Benjamin, mentioned in the genealogical records of the tribe in 1 Chronicles 8:14. A different and more narratively prominent Ahio appears in 2 Samuel 6:3–4 and 1 Chronicles 13:7, where Ahio and his brother Uzzah drove the cart carrying the Ark of the Covenant from the house of Abinadab toward Jerusalem. When Uzzah reached out to steady the ark and was struck dead, the procession was halted and the ark was left at the house of Obed-edom. The Ahio of 1 Chronicles 8 is likely a different individual belonging to the Benjaminite genealogical record.
