Ben-abinadab, Solomon's son-in-law, was one of the twelve officials appointed over Israel to provide food for the king and his household.
Ben-abinadab ('son of Abinadab') was one of Solomon's twelve district governors, responsible for the region of Naphath-dor on the Mediterranean coast (1 Kings 4:11). He was Solomon's son-in-law, having married Taphath, one of Solomon's daughters. His appointment to a strategic coastal district combining family connection with administrative responsibility illustrates Solomon's practice of using marriage alliances to secure loyalty among his senior officials.
