Dishan was a descendant of Seir the Horite, mentioned in the genealogies of Esau's family.
Dishan was a Horite chief, a descendant of Seir, listed in the genealogy of Esau's Edomite connections in Genesis 36:21, 28 and 1 Chronicles 1:38, 42. He was a son of Seir and the brother of Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, and Dishon. The Horites were the pre-Edomite inhabitants of the region of Seir who were gradually displaced by the descendants of Esau. Dishan's clan is listed among the 'chiefs' of the Horites (Genesis 36:29–30).
