Eshban was a son of Dishon and a Horite chief who lived in the land of Seir.
Eshban was a chief of Edom, listed in the genealogy of Seir the Horite in Genesis 36:26 and 1 Chronicles 1:41 as a son of Dishon. He belonged to the pre-Edomite Horite clans who inhabited the land of Seir before the descendants of Esau took possession of it (Deuteronomy 2:12). His name is preserved as one of the Horite clan chiefs whose territories and lineages the book of Genesis carefully records in the Table of Edomite Nations.
