Gamul was the head of the twenty-second priestly division organized during King David's reign.

Gamul was the head of the twenty-second priestly division established by David to serve in rotation in the sanctuary, recorded in 1 Chronicles 24:17. David organized the priests into twenty-four courses so that each would serve for a set period, ensuring regular and orderly worship. Gamul's course formed one of the last in the rotation, and the system he was part of continued into the Second Temple period.
