Old Testament

Hachmoni was the father of Jehiel who, with Jonathan attended King David's sons.

Hachmoni was the ancestor of Jehiel the Hachmonite, who served as an attendant to David's sons and a companion of the king's son, recorded in 1 Chronicles 27:32. The designation 'Hachmonite' likely indicates family origin. In the parallel tradition of the mighty men lists, 'Tahchemonite' or 'Hachmonite' appears as the designation of Josheb-basshebeth, the chief of David's three greatest warriors (2 Samuel 23:8), suggesting Hachmoni may have been a celebrated ancestral figure in David's military circles.
