Hilkiah

Hilkiah was a Levite from the family of Hosah who served as a gatekeeper for the ark of the covenant during the reign of King David (1 Chronicles 26:11). He was one of four sons of Hosah appointed to their positions by lot, fulfilling the Levitical duty of guarding the sanctuary's entrances. The gatekeeping office, though less prominent than that of priest or singer, was regarded as an honorable and necessary service within the organized worship of the tabernacle and later the temple.
