Hizkiah

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H2396H
Old Testament

Hizkiah was one of the descendants of King David through the line of Jeconiah.

Hizkiah was a descendant of King David through the line of Jeconiah (also known as Jehoiachin), listed in the post-exilic genealogy of the royal family in 1 Chronicles 3:23. He was a son of Neariah and the brother of Elioenai and Azrikam. As a member of the Davidic line after the exile, Hizkiah represents the continuation of royal descent even during the period of foreign domination, a lineage the New Testament genealogies trace toward the birth of Jesus.
