Hosah was a Levite who served as a gatekeeper at the tabernacle during the reign of King David.
Hosah was a Levite appointed by King David as a gatekeeper for the ark of the covenant, serving alongside Obed-edom (1 Chronicles 16:38). He was from the family of Merari and is noted as the father of Shimri, Hilkiah, Tebaliah, and Zechariah, who were among the gatekeepers assigned to the western gate of the sanctuary (1 Chronicles 26:10–11, 16). The gatekeeping office held by Hosah's family was a hereditary Levitical responsibility entrusted with the security and order of the house of God.
