Ishvi

Ishvi was a son of Asher and grandson of Jacob, listed in Genesis 46:17 among the seventy who came to Egypt with Jacob, and named as the ancestor of the Ishvite clan in Numbers 26:44 (KJV: Jesui). In 1 Chronicles 7:30 he appears as Ishvi alongside his siblings in the Asherite genealogy. The Ishvites formed one of the recognized clans within the tribe of Asher, demonstrating the genealogical role these sons of Asher played in defining tribal sub-divisions during the wilderness period.
