Jahath

Jahath was a Levite of the Gershonite family, a son of Shimei and grandson of Gershon son of Levi, listed in 1 Chronicles 23:10–11. He and his brother Zizah were combined into one assignment because they had fewer men than the minimum required for a separate division. The Levitical divisions David organized served in the temple in a carefully structured rotation, and even small family groups like Jahath's were incorporated into the system.
