Old Testament

Jahaziel, a Benjamite warrior, was one of the mighty men who joined David at Ziklag while he was hiding from Saul.

Jahaziel was a Benjamite warrior, listed among those who crossed to David's side at Ziklag while David was still in hiding from Saul (1 Chronicles 12:4). These warriors are described as 'mighty men, helpers in war' who could 'handle shield and spear' and whose 'faces were like the faces of lions.' The defection of Benjamites—Saul's own tribe—to David carried particular significance, strengthening David's legitimacy as the king-in-waiting over all Israel.
