Kedemah

Patriarchs (Abraham–Joseph) Arabia · H6929
Old Testament

Kedemah was a son of Ishmael, while the Nodab were a Hagrite tribe defeated by the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh.

Kedemah was the twelfth and youngest son of Ishmael, listed alongside his eleven brothers as princes of their respective clans (Genesis 25:15; 1 Chronicles 1:31). His name means 'eastward' or 'toward the east,' reflecting the direction of Ishmael's settlement described in the surrounding narrative. The twelve sons of Ishmael, like the twelve sons of Jacob, represent tribal groupings, and Kedemah likely headed a clan in the northern Arabian Peninsula.
