Meraioth

Meraioth was a priest in the ancestral line of Eleazar son of Aaron, listed as the son of Zerahiah and father of Amariah in the genealogy of the high priests (1 Chronicles 6:6–7; Ezra 7:3). This lineage connects Phinehas son of Eleazar through to Ezra the scribe, who traced his priestly descent through this chain. A second Meraioth son of Ahitub appears later in the same genealogy (1 Chronicles 9:11; Nehemiah 11:11), likely representing a different priestly line or a variant tradition.
