Mibzar

Patriarchs (Abraham–Joseph) Edom · H4014
Old Testament

Mibzar was one of the chiefs of Edom, descended from Esau.

Mibzar was one of the chiefs (Hebrew: 'alluf') of Edom, listed in the catalogue of Edomite clan leaders that concludes the genealogical records of Genesis 36 and 1 Chronicles 1. His name, meaning 'fortification' or 'stronghold,' may reflect a topographic designation. The Edomite chiefs in this list represent the tribal and territorial administration of Edom in its later period of settlement in the Seir highlands. Mibzar appears in no narrative episode.
