Nemuel

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Reuben · H5241G
Old Testament

Nemuel was a son of Eliab and a member of the tribe of Reuben.

Nemuel was a son of Eliab and a member of the tribe of Reuben, the brother of the notorious Dathan and Abiram who joined Korah's rebellion against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness (Numbers 26:9). Unlike his brothers, Nemuel is not mentioned as participating in the rebellion, and his descendants—the Nemuelites—are listed in the second census as a surviving Reubenite clan (Numbers 26:9, 12). The same name appears among Simeon's sons (Numbers 26:12), creating a dual occurrence in the tribal registers.
