Old Testament

Pedahel, son of Ammihud, the leader from Naphtali appointed to help divide Canaan.

Pedahel son of Ammihud was the representative of the tribe of Naphtali appointed to assist in the official division of the land of Canaan among the Israelite tribes (Numbers 34:28). He served on the committee alongside Eleazar, Joshua, and tribal representatives from the other nine tribes. His name, meaning 'God has redeemed,' reflects the theophoric naming convention common in Israel. He appears only in this administrative context.
