Sidon

Sidon was the firstborn son of Canaan and grandson of Ham, listed in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10:15 and 1 Chronicles 1:13 as the eponymous ancestor of the Phoenician city of Sidon on the Mediterranean coast. The city of Sidon appears frequently in the prophetic literature in oracles of judgment (Ezekiel 28:20–23; Isaiah 23) and in the New Testament as a region visited by Jesus (Mark 7:31).
