Paul applies Psalm 8:6 ('all things under his feet') christologically, declaring that God has placed all things under Christ's feet and appointed him head over everything for the benefit of the church. The OT psalm celebrates human dignity as God's vice-regents over creation; Paul reads it as fulfilled in the risen Christ who reclaims what Adam forfeited. Hebrews 2:8 independently applies the same psalm to Christ, noting that 'we do not yet see all things subjected to him' — acknowledging the eschatological tension between Christ's achieved dominion and its visible completion. 1 Corinthians 15:27 also cites Psalm 8 in the context of the final subjection of all powers at the resurrection.
