Old Testament

Ahimaaz, who was married to Solomon's daughter Basemath, served as the governor of Naphtali during Solomon's reign.

Ahimaaz son of Zadok was married to Basemath, one of Solomon's daughters, and served as the district governor of Naphtali, responsible for provisioning the royal household for one month each year (1 Kings 4:15). A more famous episode features Ahimaaz—almost certainly the same person—as the son who ran ahead of Cushi to bring David the news of Absalom's death, arriving first but withholding the full report (2 Samuel 18:19–30). His swift running was well known, and his evasive reporting of Absalom's fate reveals the difficulty of bearing grief to a king who loved the very son who had rebelled against him.
