Old Testament

Eliam, also known as Ammiel, was the father of Bathsheba, who later became King David's wife.

Eliam (also called Ammiel in 1 Chronicles 3:5) was the father of Bathsheba, the woman who became David's wife and the mother of Solomon (2 Samuel 11:3). Some scholars have identified Eliam with the 'Eliam son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,' one of David's mighty men (2 Samuel 23:34)—if correct, this would mean that Ahithophel was Bathsheba's grandfather, which might explain Ahithophel's bitter betrayal of David during Absalom's rebellion. Eliam's daughter became the mother of Israel's wisest king.
