Ephah

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah(?) · H5891H
Old Testament

Ephah was a concubine of Caleb who bore him three sons: Haran, Moza, and Gazez.

Ephah was a concubine of Caleb within the tribe of Judah, listed in 1 Chronicles 2:46 as the mother of Haran, Moza, and Gazez. She belongs to the extended Calebite branch of Judah and is preserved only in this genealogical notice. The name Ephah was shared by other figures in the Old Testament, including a son of Midian (Genesis 25:4), and the association of the name with both Judah and Midian may reflect wider ancient Near Eastern naming traditions.
