The Haruphites were a group of warriors among David's mighty men.
The Haruphites are mentioned in 1 Chronicles 12:5 as the group from which Shephatiah came, one of the Benjamite warriors who joined David at Ziklag during the period of his flight from Saul. The designation may indicate origin from Hariph or a place called Haruph, and the same name may appear in variant form elsewhere. These Benjamite recruits, skilled with both the bow and the sling, represented a significant accession of strength to David during his most vulnerable years.
