Hashbaddanah was one of the men who stood with Ezra during the public reading of the Law.
Hashbaddanah was one of the men who stood to the left of Ezra on the wooden platform when Ezra read the Torah to the assembled congregation on the first day of the seventh month in the great public reading described in Nehemiah 8:4. He was among the thirteen leaders flanking Ezra on either side, whose presence lent authority and communal representation to this landmark act of covenant renewal. He is known only from this ceremonial appearance.
