Imri

Exile Tribe of Judah · H0566G
Old Testament

Imri, a descendant of Perez from the tribe of Judah, was among those who settled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.

Imri was a descendant of Judah through the line of Perez, a son of Bani, listed among the post-exilic residents who settled in Jerusalem after the return from Babylon (1 Chronicles 9:4). His son Omri is also mentioned in the settlement register, showing two generations of the family reestablishing themselves in the holy city. The Judahite settlers in Jerusalem represented the core of the restored community that rebuilt the city under Persian authorization.
