Daniel
A figure who opposes Christ and deceives many in the last days. First John 2:18 warns, 'Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come.' Second Thessalonians 2:3-4 describes 'the man of lawlessness' who 'will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God.' Daniel 7:25 and 11:36 portray a blasphemous ruler. Revelation 13 depicts a beast given authority for forty-two months who demands worship. While Christians debate whether the Antichrist is a specific future individual or a recurring pattern of opposition, all agree that Christ will ultimately defeat every adversary.
