Arah

Arah was a son of Ulla (or Shual), a descendant of Asher, listed in the tribal genealogy of 1 Chronicles 7:39. He is one of three sons of Ulla whose names were recorded. The tribe of Asher's genealogy in 1 Chronicles 7 presents a substantial list of warriors fit for military service, and Arah's inclusion suggests his family was counted among the fighting men of the tribe. A different and more frequently mentioned Arah is the head of a family of returning exiles, 775 of whose descendants came back with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:5; Nehemiah 7:10). Whether these represent the same clan is uncertain.
