Old Testament

Ben-Geber was one of the twelve district governors appointed by Solomon, responsible for the region of Ramoth-gilead.

Ben-Geber ('son of Geber') was one of Solomon's twelve district governors, responsible for administering the region of Ramoth-gilead in Transjordan and the towns of Jair in Gilead, including Argob in Bashan—sixty large cities with bronze bars (1 Kings 4:13). Each district governor was charged with supplying the royal court for one month per year. Ben-Geber's extensive Transjordanian territory reflected the expansive reach of Solomon's kingdom beyond the Jordan River.
