Diblaim

Diblaim was the father of Gomer, the woman whom the prophet Hosea married at God's command as a living parable of God's relationship with unfaithful Israel (Hosea 1:3). Beyond his patronymic role, Diblaim appears nowhere else in the biblical record. His name is preserved solely because his daughter became central to one of the most theologically profound marital metaphors in the prophetic tradition—the story of God's persistent love for an unfaithful people.
