Elisheba

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Judah · H0472
Old Testament

Elisheba was the wife of Aaron and the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon.

Elisheba was the wife of Aaron the high priest, described in Exodus 6:23 as the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, a prince of Judah. Through her marriage to Aaron she stood at the intersection of Israel's two most prominent tribes—Judah and Levi—and became the mother of Aaron's four sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Her genealogical connections linked the priestly line with the royal tribe of Judah, and she witnessed both the founding glories and the sorrows of her husband's high priesthood.
