Gazzam was an ancestor of a group of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian exile.
Gazzam was the head of a family of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned from Babylonian captivity under Zerubbabel, listed in Ezra 2:48 and Nehemiah 7:51. The Nethinim were dedicated servants assigned to assist the Levites in the temple service, and Gazzam's family was among those whose return helped restore the liturgical life of the Second Temple. His name, possibly meaning 'consuming' or 'devouring,' is otherwise unknown in the biblical corpus.
