Hasshub

Exile Tribe of Levi · H2815G
Old Testament

Hasshub was a Levite who lived in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.

Hasshub was a Levite who participated in the repair of Jerusalem's walls under Nehemiah, mentioned in Nehemiah 3:11 and 3:23 for repairing two sections of the wall. He is also listed in Nehemiah 11:15 as a Levite who settled in Jerusalem after the exile, from the family of Merari. His double appearance in the wall-repair list suggests particular zeal for the restoration project, and his Levitical lineage connected him to the centuries-long tradition of temple service.
