Old Testament

Hesed was one of the twelve district overseers who provided supplies for King Solomon and his household.

Hesed, referred to as Ben-hesed (son of Hesed), was the father of one of the twelve district administrators appointed by King Solomon to supply provisions for the royal household (1 Kings 4:10). His son's district encompassed Arubboth with Socoh and all the land of Hepher. The administrative system Hesed's family served was designed to distribute the burden of supporting the court evenly across the kingdom, reflecting Solomon's sophisticated governance.
