Hezion was the grandfather of Ben-Hadad I, the king of Aram during the reign of Asa, king of Judah.
Hezion was the grandfather of Ben-hadad I, the king of Aram-Damascus who entered into a treaty with Asa, king of Judah, against the northern kingdom of Israel (1 Kings 15:18). His name appears only in this genealogical context, establishing the dynastic lineage of the Aramean royal house. The alliance Hezion's grandson formed with Asa resulted in a military campaign that diverted the threat posed by Baasha of Israel, demonstrating the geopolitical significance of Aramean power in the divided monarchy period.
